Lucerne 1597 Goldener Adler

Martin Martini
Pictorial Map of Lucerne, 1597
Detail of engraving showing the Rossligasse and part of the Hirschenplatz.
The original doorway of the Goldener Adler building is partly obscured in this detail, but we can see that none of the buildings hereabouts had ornamental ground floor windows.
A fully-zoomable version of the map can be viewed on the website of the Staatsarchiv of Lucerne. Click on the following link and use your browser’s ‘back’ button to return to this page: http://www.staatsarchiv.lu.ch/index/schaufenster/karten_stadtansichten/stadtansicht_martini.htm
