Bellinzona: View down the Salita della Nocca

Ruskin developed a fascination with the rock exposure to the left of the Salita. He said that it reminded him of the Gneiss rocks of Glenfinlas and Glen Garry in his native Scotland. It is a little suprising to discover that the rock outcrop appears to have hardly weathered at all since 1858, although the whole site is damper due to the growth of trees overhead. Perhaps I should have cleaned off the autumnal leaves, in order to better see the rock, but the colour effect was altogether too Ruskinian.
